Aviation Sites

Puget Sound Soaring Association.  Our "local" glider club, which operates out of Bergseth Field in Enumclaw, WA.

Seattle Glider Council.  A sort of "parent organization" for all the glider clubs in the area.  SGC operates a clubhouse and tow planes out of Ephrata, on the "dry side."

Soaring Society of America.  The national soaring organization

Boating Sites

Tacoma Yacht Club.  The focus of our boating life and, to some extent, our social life as well.  Diane is President of Shipmates, the TYC women's group.  Click on the "Locations" tab and browse around.  You'll find several of our pictures of favorite destinations in the Islands.

Island Cam. Some webcams in the San Juan Islands.

Tide and Current Predictions.  This is the best such site we've found.  Indispensable for boaters.  Non-boaters will look at it and say, "Huh??"

Some of our favorite skiing sites. Useless during the summer, but great in the winter!

Stevens Pass, Washington. Voted "Best Ski Area" by KING-TV's Evening Magazine "Best of Western Washington" poll.

Crystal Mountain, Washington (Yeah, we know there's one with the same name somewhere in Michigan. THIS is the real thing...a mountain, not a hill!) We think it's kinda over-rated. But we still go there.

Whitefish Mountain, Montana. It used to be called "The Big Mountain" and it's been hard for us to adjust to calling it something else.  Our favorite destination resort, bar none.

Mt. Bachelor, Oregon. Our favorite "easy to get there in a day" destination resort.

And some Just Plain Fun sites.

Geocaching.com.  One of our favorite hobbies, defined as "using multi-million dollar satellite technology to locate Tupperware containers in the woods."  It can be a bit more complex than that, but only if you want it to be.  Check it out!  (But be warned--it's addictive!)

Internet Movie Data Base. The imdb is a WONDERFUL place to waste hours of time when you should be mowing the lawn, cleaning the garage, etc. (Hmmm. WE don't have to do either of those chores EVER again! Neener, neener.)

Back to the Future. If you liked the Trilogy, you'll find TONS of intriguing and useless information here.

Microsoft Terraserver Images. If you live in the right areas, you can find cool satellite photos of your house.

The Oracle of Bacon at Virginia.  You mean you didn't know that Kevin Bacon is the nexus of the known universe?
